Ready for the North European Renewable Energy Convention (NEREC) in October.

All set for NEREC in October.

Leading European renewable energy companies will be meeting at Norway Trade Fairs from 7-8 October. The aim is to create an annual forum for industrial development in this sector.

The convention will be a unique mix of exhibition, conference and social events, bringing together the most important players in renewable energy.
Representatives will attend from the solar, wind, hydro, tidal and wave power sectors, along with carbon capture and storage (CCS), biofuels, and bio and geothermal energy.

This will provide opportunities to establish direct dialogue with scientists, suppliers, project managers, investors and politicians involved in renewable energy.

Expand
Market surveys showed that room existed to expand last year’s first Scandinavian-oriented conference, reports Stig Nitter Foss, managing director of Norway Trade Fairs.
Staged as Scan Ref, that proved a big success and was attended by 1 200 delegates from 450 different companies and 30 countries. The associated exhibition attracted more than 40 exhibitors and roughly 2 000 visitors.
“The positive feedback from last year contributed to our decision to widen the geographical platform for this event to include the whole of northern Europe,” Mr Nitter Foss explains.

“Our goal is to provide all participants with opportunities to learn, act and grow as a result of attending the NEREC.”
This will be a world-class event covering the industrial, technological, financial and political aspects of renewable energy.
“The good feedback from both exhibitors and visitors last year means that we’re now working to strengthen the associated exhibition even further,” Mr Nitter Foss says. “It will provide a good arena for all players in renewable energy to present their products and services.”

Extensive
He promises another extensive and heavyweight conference programme, with around 75 top-level speakers due to convey their knowledge and visions to some 1 000-1 500 expected delegates.
The Road to Copenhagen will be the theme for the first day of the two-day seminar, with Britain’s Lord Oxburgh in the chair and contributions from Nordic, UK and US government representatives.
This session accordingly forms part of the run-up to the major climate change conference being staged in the Danish capital during December.
The second day concentrates on renewable energy developments in northern Europe from various perspectives.

An extensive investor seminar will be staged simultaneously by ABG Sundal Collier and DnB Nor Markets, with presentations from 25-30 international listed companies in the renewables business.

“We’re proud to have recruited so many good collaborators who will help us to give both conference and exhibition the necessary weight, and to ensure that this event is an even greater success than it was in 2008,” says Mr Nitter Foss.
