Bente Bratland Holm from Norway Convention Bureau receives the price
Presenting the campaign to a panel of judges and 900 delegates at the International Congress and Convention Association Congress in Florence 10 November 2009, Norway Convention Bureau won the Best Marketing Award 2009!
The campaign with 'the naked man' running for the past 3 years has created a lot of attention from the press, colleagues in the industry as well as from clients. Reviewed as 'highly visable campaign', 'fresh', 'remarkable campaign' in international meetings magazines.
'It can be risky business using nudity in campaigns, however with the pay off 'Norway - for Natural Reasons' we could underline the meaning of the campaign and the pay off has strictly been used together with the photo in order not to offend anyone', says Bente B. Holm, Director of Norway Convention Bureau.
The CEO of ICCA, Mr. Martin Sirk said about the campaign;
"The fact that our Keynote Speaker, marketing guru Dan Heath chose to use the Norway Convention Bureaus "man on the rock" as the best example he came across in our industry of a "sticky" marketing campaign totally vindicated the earlier votes of our delegates and expert judging panel,"
Mr. Sirk continues; "There is still far too much bland, unremarkable marketing in our industry, and we hope that this decision spurs other ICCA members to re-examine their campaigns and to present their products, services and destinations using more creative and bold perspectives."
Norway Convention Bureau, will receive a marketing package in ICCA and Bedouk publications worth more than €10,000.
